Tom Daley is The Herald's Sports Personality of the Year

The awards keep coming...

TOM DALEY has been named The Herald’s Sports Personality of the Year at a glitzy awards ceremony in the city.

Plymouth’s diving sensation, who is Britain’s first ever diving world champion, received the award in front of the city’s top sportsmen and women at the Pavilions last night.

The 15-year-old Eggbuckland school boy also won the new Champagne Moment of 2009 award for his historic victory in Rome, and was presented his trophies by boxing legend Barry McGuigan.
